Brussels - Chocolate Capital of the World

As de facto capital of Europe, home to the headquarters of NATO and EU, it is fair to say that Brussels plays a vital role in European society and global politics, and if you have asked for something that is famous Brussels is obliged to name of its role as the capital of European politics, in my mind.

Then again, you can choose to respond in a more 'diplomatic', and rename the other thing that Brussels is world famous for: chocolate!

And yet something is done before this strange relationship between Belgium - a European country - and chocolate, a sweetness from the installation of the cocoa tree, a plant nativein South America. So if not this link here?

The story goes that the cook of the 16th century French Duke Plesslis Praslin-one days burned accidentally spilled sugar to almond mixture, which is the pretty Duke, and later gave his name - the chocolate! The accidental discovery has brought the cake, hazelnut paste and the way that complements the chocolate, Belgian develop and refine this delicious cake.

This is a story that still very much alive in Brusselstoday, and is a heritage that are only too happy to go with a chocolate lovers around the world. negotiated in Brussels including the famous Lady Godiva chocolate plant that bears the royal seal of approval, and The Foundry, which offers guided by Tiffany. There is also a chocolate museum, which tells the history of Belgian chocolate, chocolate making classes, and offers perhaps more importantly, it offers some delicious Champions!

Brussels is also home to a wealth of cultural attractions such as the Lower Town, home of the Grand Place, the splendid example of 17th century Baroque Municipalities and now has major outdoor concerts, and the Cathedral of St. Michel - the building has than three centuries! The architectural style of this grand building transition from Romanesque to Renaissance before your eyes!
